Yesterday, during Hong Kong’s late morning there was a major communication disruption across Asia and more specifically within the Hong Kong’s metropolitan area affecting both voice and data lines. The disruption was a result of an earthquake off the coast of Taiwan that damaged a number of undersea cables. Because of this we experienced latency and/or disruptions to our clients, exchanges, market data and trading systems.
